How do you deal with Small Black squirrels making loud scratching noises?

For 4 nights – two or three small black squirrels have kept us up all night with their amazingly loud scratching and thumping noises. I am looking for a suggestion on how to deal with them.

Once you figure out where they are coming from, you can take action:

If they are trapped in an area where you yourself can get at them, get on a pair of heavy-duty gloves and remove the obstruction that is blocking their way out without touching the squirrels. Then, make sure they can’t get stuck again by blocking the space.

If they are outside (i.e. free), I personally suggest putting a wind chime near your house. Squirrels in particular hate the noise and will stay away from the area where the wind-chime is located. ;)

If you know they’re trapped, but you can’t free them without touching them, contact your local ASPCA office or wildlife preservation program; it’s likely that they will send out a professional to get them out safely and without trauma. =)

Glad I could help!
