Do You Want to Know How to Pick The Best Dog Food Brands?

without comments

With a growing number of pet owners contemplating the connection of their dog’s health to what he eats, they are wondering about the best dog food brands. If you know what you’re doing you can find the best brand of dog food by reading the labels.

It would be great if that was the case, but with the encrypted code being used by the pet food companies, it is not that easy.

There is more good information to help us find healthy food for us, than there is to find a healthy dog food.

Unfortunately, pet food manufactories have the ability to use ingredients that are not suitable for human consumption. It is sad that in today’s world those who manufacture dog food can use low quality by product ingredients and due to government regulations give the brand high quality healthy sounding names.

One would assume that finding dried egg product as a listed ingredient in dog food would make it healthier. What it really means is egg shells of all kinds and other tissues that cannot be consumed by human beings, may be found in it.

While doing my research to find the best dog food brands, I ran across a list of 68 ingredients that are used by some of the best brands, that should give you cause to stop feeding these brand to your dog. 28 out of 68 are toxic ingredients and although they are not so fatal today to take your dog’s life, they would surely cause enough harm by which, your dog wont live long.

I also found a free confidential dog food report written by a guy that has hired a testing firm to find the best dog food brands in North America. The report is copyright protected, so I can’t re-print it in this article.

Only nine brands made the rankings of the best dog food brands in America based on criteria of being the most healthy foods in the list.

27 brands didn’t make the list after consideration, and there are some big names that didn’t make it. Product brands such as Iams, Science Diet and Eukanuba were not included on the list.

The report continues to be updated, and in this 2nd addition there are six brands that have been removed due to reasons listed in the report. Every brand in the report has a reason why it is healthy or not.

Because of my finding of what goes into commercially made dog food, I now feed my dogs a homemade dog food diet. Even knowing what I know there are times that it is just easier to open a bag and pour some food, but I refuse to compromise the health of my dogs. That is why I continued to do research until I found a reliable source for the best dog food brands to supplement my homemade food.
